It was the season’s eighth match, and boy, it sure was a treat for cricket enthusiasts. Under Rajat Patidar’s leadership, RCB snapped a 17-year dry spell at Chepau,k cruising to a mighty 50-run triumph against CSK in IPL season 2025.

In the eighth game of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings kicked things off by grabbing the chance to bowl first. The Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to face the challenge with openers Virat Kohli and Philip Salt, setting the tone for a solid showing at Chepuk. They knocked up 56 runs and lost one batter during the initial powerplay. As the game rolled on, they finished their swing at the bat with a hefty 197 runs on the scoreboard, though seven of their players were back in the pavilion. Khaleel Ahmed was the guy who opened up the bowling for CSK.
RCB rocked it in the game against CSK, if you ask me. Their hitting was pretty much a team thing, and big ups to the skipper Rajat Patidar β the dude was chill and nailed it with his 51 from 32 balls. The starting crew laid down a strong base, making way for Tim David to come in late and smash it. Everyone thought the big question was how RCB would deal with 12 overs of spin bowling, yet flip the script, and it’s CSK sweating over RCB’s eight overs of old-school seam and curve thanks to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. They didn’t handle it too hot, which their stats of 7-0-41-4 show.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru put up a score of 197 for Chennai Super Kings to chase at Chepauk. Skipper Rajat Patidar scored the lone fifty for RCB. Noor Ahmad from CSK grabbed three outs, knocking off big names like Virat Kohli and Phil Salt. We also saw a typical MS Dhoni move when he zapped Phil Salt with a super quick stumpin,g reminding everyone of his epic play against Mumbai’s Suryakumar Yadav.
In the game of bowling, Josh Hazlewood ruled launching a blazing set of deliveries that smashed through CSK’s hitters. He nabbed key players Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rahul Tripathi super . Yash Dayal backed up Hazlewood showing off some neat control making it even tougher for CSK’s players to score.
Noor Ahmad shined for CSK, snagging three wickets and giving fans flashes of hope when he sent Virat Kohli and Liam Livingstone back to the pavilion. Yet, when CSK needed their batsmen to step up, they just couldn’t make it happen. Rachin Ravindra put up a brave 41, and MS Dhoniβs late-game six-hitters did offer a bit of excitement, but in the end, it wasn’t enough. CSK wrapped up with 146/8 by the close of their play.
RCB created history by smashing their 17-year run of no wins at Chepauk, pulling off a dominant team display. It’s a night RCB supporters won’t forget, as CSK aims to shake this off and come back strong in the next games.
